I'm attending the
25th Annual Session of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) all this week. It is a great venue for learning, mentoring and meeting different dentists from around the world. This morning I had the chance to listen to
Dr. Bill Dorfman of
Extreme Makeover fame. I have heard him before-he's done a lot to support dentists and promote
cosmetic dentistry.
The AACD also has a charitable group called
Give Back A Smile that helps care for the women who are victims of domestic violence. Last year the foundation formed an agreement with actress Heather Locklear. Unfortunately, she developed some personal issues and was not able to participate. This is a great program that helps restore smiles for women who have been abused. Imagine trying to start a new life, and not being able to smile because of missing teeth and gaps. By restoring smiles, these women can start over again.
I heard the under-the-radar buzz that GBAS will have a new spokeswoman for this year. It hasn't been publicly announced yet, but should be announced tomorrow-so you heard it here first. The new spokeswoman is scheduled to be
Brooke Burke. In fact, you can find her updates even on Twitter at this
link (in fact, you can follow my updates on
Twitter by

At the advice of my internet mentor,
Dan Goldstein from
Page1 Solutions, I purchased a Flip video camera. We'll see if I can get my video uploaded tonight. So stay tuned for more updates!
