No Prep Veneers (Lumineers)
If you want a quick fix for unattractive teeth, and you do not want to have your natural teeth shaved down to fit traditional veneers, Lumineers may be the solution for you.
Lumineers are a very thin type of porcelain veneer that provides an ideal substitute for braces and other orthodontic options such as Invisalign, because they correct your teeth in as little as two dentist visits.
They work well for teeth that are:
- Unevenly spaced
- Chipped
- Broken
- Crooked
- Badly discolored (and will not respond to teeth whitening procedures)
The best part about Lumineers is they do not require the irreversible reduction of tooth enamel to make space for them. This makes the procedure reversible and gives you the flexibility to have the Lumineers altered in the future.
The process is gentle. You will not need any anesthesia, nor will you feel much sensitivity after treatment. Lumineers also last longer than traditional veneers, up to 20 years if properly maintained.
Lumineers are recommended for patients who:
- Are too picky about what aspects of their smile they want to change
- Do not want much of their natural teeth altered
- Do not grind or clench their teeth
