Dentistry and Trust

I read an interesting blog today. It was talking about trust, confidence and how businesses, even cosmetic dentistry, need to earn their clients respect. I think that the success of long-standing relationships comes down to excellent communication.

I am constantly looking for ways to express to my cosmetic dentistry clients that we are here to serve them and to create the results that they are dreaming of. (you can see some of the other after photos here in our smile gallery).

We take great efforts to have clear, back-and-forth communication so that what I anticipate for my patients, is what THEY want, and what they anticipate. For example, I am working on a very difficult smile design. We are working on a smile simulation to show what I have designed to correct the spaces, even large gaps in his smile. I am using computer smile imaging to create a preview of what his new smile will look like. Then we will discuss how close that is to what HE wants.

Before we start his veneers or crowns, we will both have a clear image of what his new smile will look like. I will be realistic about what's possible. I see no value in promising the impossible.

Often though, we are able to deliver the AMAZING! At the end of the day, when it's all finished, if my patients leave smiling and amazed, it has been a good day.
