BioTemps®

Denver and Lakewood, Colorado

BioTemps® are lab-fabricated, heat-processed, strong temporary restorations which closely resemble the appearance of your natural teeth. They are made from a heat-cured acrylic in order to provide you with a durable restoration that will not absorb fluid.

Denver cosmetic dentist Dr. Scott Greenhalgh regularly uses BioTemps with the following restorations:

BioTemps are essentially a cross between a wax up and a sophisticated temporary. Dr. Greenhalgh will take an impression of your teeth and send it to the lab for the construction of your temporary restoration. It generally takes about five days to produce your BioTemp, which will be used until your permanent restoration is created.

When Should I Consider BioTemps?

If you have high aesthetic needs during the temporary period, BioTemps are an excellent option. For example, if you chipped a couple of teeth right before the wedding of a close friend or family member, BioTemps would provide you with a very natural looking temporary restoration that would help you look your best for photos.

BioTemps are also ideal for patients who are undergoing a full mouth rehabilitation. Dr. Greenhalgh finds that when he is working on a significant number of teeth, BioTemps provide extra strength during the temporary phase. Furthermore, a full mouth rehabilitation may take several months to complete. BioTemps provide you with a durable option while your permanent restorations are being created.
